Position Title:  Campus Correspondent

Length:  20 Weeks (Duration of the 2009 NCAA Football Season)

Dates:  15 August, 2009 – 15 January, 2010

Type:  Unpaid

Hours per Week:  10 Hours per Week

 

 

Position Overview:   

This is an unpaid freelance position. 

College Football Campus is a website dedicated to providing the best in-depth analysis and freelance journalism in the world of NCAA football. The website is designed to both give fans a forum for providing their own analysis as well as staff provided “expert analysis.” 

The Campus Correspondent position will be the lead reporter for their particular school. Correspondents will be required to write weekly previews of coming games as well as rounding up the previous week’s outcomes. The position offers journalism students the opportunity and experience of working in today’s online medium balancing research, reporting, interviewing, content submission, and website administration.  

 

Position Responsibilities:  

1.  Provide weekly articles and insight on their college’s football program.

2.  Participate in weekly conference preview creation with staff writers assigned to cover their college’s conference.

3.  Participate in weekly Podcasts when asked for team analysis by staff writers.

4.  Submit content in accordance with promulgated submission deadlines.

5.  Participate in the friendly staff picks competition designed to keep staff well informed on the world of NCAA football.

 

Qualifications: 

1.  Job is open to those journalism students who are classified as sophomore or above as well as established sports bloggers looking for a larger oulet.

2.  Interest in pursing sports journalism highly desirable.

3.  Knowledge online content submission and website based media highly desirable but not required.
