Miami(OH) @ Temple 7:30pm, 05 November The Redhawks bring a one dimensional offense into Philadelphia tonight to line up against Temple. While they average 255 ypg through the air, Miami(OH) only manages 73 ypg on the ground. Unfortunately, Temple has the #2 passing defense in the MAC and #17 overall in the country. They allow only 197.6 ypg and have 11 interceptions. Miami(OH) QB Zac Dysert has to continue the improvements he’s displayed recently if the Redhawks expect to be competitive in this game. Dysert has 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in the past two games, but 9 interceptions and only 3 touchdowns in the 4 games prior to that. Standing in Dysert’s way will be Temple defensive backs Jaiquawn Jarrett and Marquise Liverpool who have combined for 5 INTs on the season. Even the television networks know this game is going to be a flop and all the better for us… I’d hate to end up watching a blood bath.
Prediction: Temple 35 - Miami (OH) 12 The Rest of the Undercards
Eastern Michigan @ Northern Illinois 7:30pm, 05 November, ESPNU Eastern Michigan allows over 277 yards per game of rushing! Pathetic. Any team that shows this much ineptitude in stopping the run deserves to go winless on the season. While Chandler Harnish’s knee injury may keep him off the field, it won’t even phase the Huskies who only have to go to Brown and Spann to dominate the tempo of the game. Prediction: Northern Illinois 38 - Eastern Michigan 20 Western Michigan @ Michigan State 12:00pm, 07 November, Big Ten Network Oh how I wish this match up occurred last season when Western Michigan’s defense was solid. That said, it will be the loss of wide receivers Nunez and White which will cost the Broncos any shot of beating the Spartans. Prediction: Michigan State 42 - Western Michigan 21 Kent State @ Akron 3:30pm, 07 November The Zips are a team on the verge of firing their head coach for ruining what used to be a team which could compete in conference. So there’s your intangible I guess. Looking at the stats, Akron ranks last in Total offense in the MAC, and while Kent State is only #7 in conference, the additional 60 yards of total offense they gain per game should be enough for an extra touchdown. Prediction: Kent State 28 - Akron 20
Somebody grab a CO2 extinguisher… This guy’s about to go critical!
With just 8 total yards in the past two games, Me’co is ready to bust out of his slump. He’s an explosive runner and should get plenty of touches against a very weak Eastern Michigan run defense. I expect to see 150 yards on the ground by Brown and nearly 300 yards total by the Huskies.
+22 This is the turnover margin delta in the favor of Temple over Miami (OH) this weekend. As if the defense wasn’t enough of a problem, the offense continues to turnover the ball.
