Clemson:  2 Injuries; 1 likely to Require Surgery

ESPN's Heather Dinich reports two of Clemson's offensive stars, QB Harper and RB Spiller, have injuries which will either sideline them or most likely affect their play on Saturday.  Read the Article.

Campus Analysis:

Apparently, QB Cullen Harper has been playing since sometime during the Alabama game with a "pain" in his throwing shoulder.  As a coach, this is completely understandable to keep your star quarterback in the game and subsequently start him in 5 follow on games when you are competing for an ACC title.  I'm sure Harper was quick to announce that the pain wasn't really that bad and he could keep playing.  I'm sure the doctors even gave him the nod because more times than not the opinion of the player will tip the scales in a questionable injury.  What I don't understand is why he is going to play on Saturday only to have surgery later in the weekend.

Clemson, you've just fired your coach and essentially given up on the season, don't risk further injury to young man who has given you 3.5 solid years on the football field.  He doesn't have the ability to make the sound judgement for himself so the coach needs to make the right one for him.  Whether Clemson beats Georgia Tech this weekend or not, it won't do anything for their season and not a thing for Harper other than possibly hurt his shoulder more.

Standby for updates as I canvass the Inter-webs looking for more injury reports.
